    • Illinois Youth Survey is conducted every other year since 1999.
    • 40 Asset Survey conducted every odd year since 2005.
    • Process evaluation survey conducted during lunch periods throughout school year.
  • Focus groups
    • Conducted to obtain student feedback on campaign messages and materials 4-6 times a school year.
    • Facilitated by trained staff.
  • Campaign materials
    • Materials incorporate messages reflecting the most recent youth survey data highlighting the positive, healthy behaviors of most students.
    • ZBTHS administration approves all materials.
    • Media channels include posters, billboards, local business marquees, special events, and incentives with the primary messages: “90% of Zee-Bees are Tobacco Free” & “70% of Zee-Bees are Alcohol Free”.
  • Address misperceptions and believability
    • Increase knowledge of high school staff through lunch and learns, staff meetings and e-mails.
    • Increase communication and coordination between coalition staff and high school through NEW Social Norms Liaison (Ms. Melanie Mudarth).
    • Increase knowledge and awareness of students through advisory and cafeteria activities
